Hey - My first time on your blog! I know this is an OLD rhetorical question, but I must respond. I, too, find Uggs aesthetically atrocious, HOWEVER, that being said, I LIVE in mine from fall through spring.

Growing up in the NE, and spending years in the NW, I hate cold feet. Also, I've had enough of socks and complicated footgear. So - cold feet? Slippin my dogs into a pair of shearling-lined Uggs in the morning? HEAVEN. Frankly, Uggs - except the heavier, calf-skin winter versions - are totally useless in wet weather. You can't get it wet; it will never dry out the same.

And, on a historical note, Uggs are a SURFER shoe. Perfect for the beach, post-surfing. Here is more on that tip: http://ezinearticles.com/?The-History-of-Ugg-Boots&id=15708.

So that's just one woman's answer to your question about Uggs, daddio! (Pun INTENDED!)
